Percept Picture Company’s next big offering is the action comedy film Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal. Touted as a sequel to the 2006 hit Malamal Weekly, it is anything but that as is evident from its trailer.
The film stars Nana Patekar, Om Puri, Paresh Rawal, Shreyas Talpade, Madhurima, Shakti Kapoor, Asrani and host of other character actors and has been directed by ace director Priyadarshan.
The Plot: Bakri Johnny!! That’s the insinuating cry of every man, woman and child in this village when they see Johnny (Shreyas Talpade). Afraid of everything and everyone, Johnny is one terrified soul. Born into the household of David (Om Puri), a local farmer and being the only son, Johnny does what he’s best at to help his ailing father. Nothing! Other than buying lottery tickets every week. The only thing going in his life, is his love for Maria (Madhurima) the daughter of the village’s biggest gunda and sworn enemy of David… Peter (Paresh Rawal).
Armed with two herculean sons, Peter goes to all ends to make sure his daughter and Johnny never marry, until one day, hope comes in the form a silent, strong but very hungry man Sam (Nana Patekar).
What happens next is a complete dhamaal of fun, action and drama resulting in one very Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal.
The first look of the film is promising and Nana Patekar as the angry young man in an action comedy role is a welcome change. Post Welcome, Nana in this one meaty role will be keenly followed. Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal is one feel good film that is awaited.
The film releases on 28th September. Let’s see how this action comedy fares at the box office.
