But yes, leaving aside everything, Salman ‘Tiger’ Khan has done it again. His latest blockbuster has broken all records for the fastest Rs.100 crores at the box office. In what is his 4th century in the list, Ek Tha Tiger achieved the phenomenal feat in just 5 days and that too with the film’s release happening on a Wednesday which was Independence Day.
The first day’s collection was approximate Rs.32 crores according to the box office results which in itself is a new box office record. It took over the earlier record of Rs.22 crores held by Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath.
Salman’s resurrection post his Eid release Wanted way back in 2009 started this trend and producers now vie for the Eid slot for all Salman Khan releases and Ek Tha Tiger was no exception except that it released 5 days before the Razman Eid (20th August) this year. Not taking into account Eid’s collection, this film is surely set to create some new box office records during its run at the box office.
At the end of a week, the total collection stood at Rs.135 crores with the trade pundits expecting the blockbuster to join the Rs.200 crore club sometime in the near future.
Salman ‘Tiger’ Khan has proved again that his earlier mega hits were no fluke in the pan stuff. He is no more Ek Tha Tiger… He is still The Tiger…
