Son of Sardar‘ looks like a promising film. Ajay Devgn whose last few films have been more or less action oriented films with a dose of comedy is once again in the same saddle with ‘Son of Sardar’ co-starring Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt.

The action sequences by Action Master Jai Singh Nijjar looks fresh in some parts while the story appears run-of-the-mill. But then in an out-and-out action comedy, who really gives a damn about the story. Ajay Devgn sticks to his comic facial expressions that was abundantly seen in films like the ‘Golmaal‘ series and the recent ‘Bol Bachchan‘. Dialogues seems good though it has borrowed heavily from real life scenerios related to the Sardars. It’s now upto the Sardars to take it in a light view. Frankly, I am sure they’ll consider this film an answer to the jokes based on them. Sardars no doubt are the epitome of good natured people who don’t mind having a laugh at themselves.

So finally, Co-Producer Ajay Devgn and Director Ashwni Dhir seems to have given us a good family film. No doubt with the action oriented films the norm of the day, Son of Sardar is definitely going to stand out for its brilliant casting of Ajay and Sanjay against each other. Sonakshi… hmmm seems to have an extended role from her Rowdy Rathore days…

The film is slated to hit the screens in November 2012 and will be pitched against some of other big films including a love story from the Yash Raj Banners starring Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. But then action speaks louder than words 😉
